OYAIDE Banana plug

I didn't plan to buy, but I think it'll be easier to change speaker cable attach to another AMP.
Really nice one!

The Beatles USB

Finally bought this!
Provided all artworks+short films and both flac & mp3 format files in STEREO.
Although it's 44.1khz 24bit quality, I found stereo mix is not good for me anymore:(
Especially 1st four albums, they must be MONO only release available in high resolution format....

Exile on Main St. Deluxe Edition - The Rolling Stones

This is the 3rd time I bought this album, but this time will be the final one.
Worth buying mainly for 2 reason;
1. The best sound remastered.
2. Contents of Disc 2 is superb, especially I like "Plundered My Soul" very much.

Hope you enjoy it as well :)

Another AC Adapter for ND-S1 arrived

Another AC adapter for ND-S1 arrived, 2nd purchase from AY-Denshi.
I decided to buy general purpose (they provide exclusive one for ND-S1 as well) since it equipped bigger toroidal transformer than ND-S1 exclusive one:)

iPhone Airplane Mode

When to use iPhone with ONKYO ND-S1, above message is always popup and I took 'No' every time.
But today, while playing music, mail coming in, then iPhone hanged up:(
So I change my mind when to use iPhone with ND-S1, take Airplane Mode.
When dock off, iPhone automatically return to normal mode.

Change of the speaker cable

For the first time in 5 years, I decided to change the speaker cable.
I've been using Nordost Red Dawn and have no complain about the sound quality, but just want to try another one that seems to have a better quality.

At first, I though I must buy banana plugs, but thought twice and it's OK without them.

Very crowded cables backwards .....

As far as I've been hearing the sound with SP-1, it's quite alright, seems to produce more natural but strong sound all over.
BWT, i don't believe any AGING OF THE CABLE, it's just AGING OF THE EAR!

Breakout cable for Apogee Mini-DAC

Breakout cable comes with Apogee Mini-DAC seems not the best one to use, so I asked OYAIDE DENKI to make special cable for me.
They took my order (Thanks Mizushima-san!), cost 3,892 JPY (use Neutrik XLR female NC3FXCC→Apogee Wyde Eye1.0m → D-Sub9PIN male).
I just check the sound quality and seems better than attached.

BTW, Apogee's tech support is excellent and sent me a diagram as follows for making own breakout cable.
If you make your own higher quality breakout cable, just refer to the following:)

I recently sold mini DAC and don't need to keep this anymore.
If anyone interested to buy, please let me know.
I'd lke to sell this cable @ $20.00 + S&H and I can accept paypal anyway.
Thanks,
Y

ONKYO ND-S1 rushes in!

Finally arrived from AMAZON.
Wonderful sound concerning the price at all.
Will take more time to get accustomed to anyway for current audio environment too, like Apogee Mini-DAC.

Out of noise by Ryuichi Sakamoto 48kHz 24bit AIFF

Bought to compare with 44.1kHz 16bit version, unfortunately my ear didn't catch significant improvement:(
Here's hibari and you can compare the quality as you wish, enjoy (but take time to load, so be patient)!

Apogee Mini-DAC w/Firewire

Finally got Apogee Mini-DAC and mainly use it for browsing audio files stored in my MacBookPro via Firewire interface, mostly AIFF and WAV. I also use it with my Blu-ray HDD recorder via TOSLINK and with my CDP (Primare CD31) via AES (not yet set up).

FYI, I bought Mini-DAC via Akane-san @Vintage King Audio, she's Japanese and no worries about placing an order in Japanese.
Actually Apogee got some export limitations and not all stores in US can export
Apogee equipments to sell outside USA since they need to protect agencies outside USA.
Tax charged is 2,900 JPY.

For AC adapter, I prepare better one than equipped with, it's AY-Denshi's DC12V1.25A and it works perfect with Mini-DAC:).
